Picnic food and BGSU swag is included with each ticket. Please bring your own beverages (BYOB)

We’ll be meeting at Hills & Dales MetroPark (Olmsted Shelter for this open house–style event, so feel free to stop by at any time during the afternoon.

The shelter is conveniently located near restrooms and a playground, is handicap accessible, and offers a great setting for alumni, families, and friends to connect and unwind. This is a family-friendly event, so bring the kids and enjoy an afternoon outdoors.

Parking is available in the White Oak Camp parking lot, just a short walk from the shelter.

On the second Tuesday of every month, the WCDPL Bookmobile will make a regular stop on campus, offering convenient access to books, movies, music and audiobooks. The service will continue through the summer so students, faculty and staff can easily borrow and return library materials without making a special trip off campus.

Whether you are looking for your next great read, a new audiobook for your commute or a film for the weekend, the Bookmobile makes borrowing simple and accessible.

What You Can Borrow

The Bookmobile will be stocked with:

Adult fiction and nonfiction

Movies

Music

Audiobooks

Patrons may also request specific titles to be delivered to the campus stop.

This is a convenient way to access popular titles, discover new authors and explore public library collections right on campus.

Who Can Use the Bookmobile?

All students, faculty and staff are eligible to use the Bookmobile and register for a library card. To register, you must present a state-issued ID.

Parking and Accessibility

The Bookmobile will be parked in Lot N adjacent to the Jerome Library. The Bookmobile is fully ADA accessible and includes a lift at the back of the vehicle.

By participating in this session, you will learn how to determine if an existing digital version is available, mitigate imitations of digital copies, and learn best practices for scanning physical books and articles into high-quality digital files that include searchable text (OCR) capabilities as well as the texttoaudio (MP3) function.

This will be followed by a hands-on scanning component, during which you will practice creating accessible digital documents. You will then learn how to verify accessibility compliance and perform basic postproduction remediation to ensure that scanned materials meet accessibility standards and support equitable access for all users.

Why you should attend:

Apply best practices for converting physical books and articles to digital files. Verify digital accessibly compliance of a PDF.

Perform basic PDF remediation functions utilizing Adobe Acrobat.

Verify existing digital versions of books and articles.

For thousands of years humans observed light from the night sky with their eyes. In the beginning of the 17th century the use of the telescope by Galileo revolutionized our knowledge of the Universe. Then, in the 20th century, rockets made it possible to go above the atmosphere and make observations of x-ray and gamma ray radiation. Now observations can be made not only of light, but also of neutrinos, cosmic rays, and even gravitational waves – providing new windows into the universe and phenomenon such as the mergers of neutron stars and black holes. This show presents images of the cosmos revealed by all these different messengers.

Author Larry L. Nelson's presentation will explore To Your Posts! Fort Meigs in the War of 1812 through the Voices of Those Who Fought There, a compelling account of the frontier fort that helped shape the outcome of the War of 1812. Drawing from letters, diaries and other firsthand accounts, many published for the first time, the book brings to life the experiences of soldiers stationed at Fort Meigs during two historic sieges in 1813.

Whether you're passionate about military history, early America, genealogy or local history, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the people, places and events that influenced the future of the Northwest Territory and the United States.

During this program, you'll explore:

The history and significance of Fort Meigs in present-day Perrysburg, Ohio

How the fort withstood two major sieges during the War of 1812

The role of William Henry Harrison and American forces in the Detroit Theater

Newly published letters, diaries and primary source documents that reveal the personal stories of those who served at the fort

The audience will control the direction of the show by writing their favorite songs on request slips that they bring to the pianos. Energetic and exciting entertainers then perform these songs, while encouraging audience participation.

The fact that many of your favorite rock, r&b and rap songs can be performed on the piano will leave you amazed.

Cost to participate: No pre-sale tickets will be sold. Simply head to the Oaks for dinner, and the show is included with the price of your meal. There will be an entry cost at the door: ​​​$16 for credit/debit (we are cashless) or one meal swipe per person upon entry.

You and your loved ones are invited to join BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers for a family tailgate 2 hours before kick off! Enjoy free food while supplies last. This is an alcohol-free event. After the tailgate, join us at as BGSU takes on Ball State at Doyt L. Perry Stadium.

Student ticket: BGSU students receive free admission to all home athletic events. Sign in to the ticketing system as a student and enter your BGSU ID to download your ticket.
