Exhibit - The Monster, Transformed: The Many Faces of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in the 20th Century

The Browne Popular Culture Library presents its new exhibit The Monster, Transformed: The Many Faces of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in the 20th Century. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus was first published in 1918, and in the 200 years since has become an important cultural touchstone. The Browne Popular Culture Library’s exhibit, on display until November 4, looks at many ways in which Shelley’s text and its famous monster were reinterpreted beginning in the 20th century. The display includes posters, books, toys, comics, and more based on the story of Dr. Frankenstein and his monster.

From Crime Scene to Crime Lab: Tour of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation Building

Go to the scene of a "drug deal gone bad" to assist in collecting evidence and then follow the chain-of-custody as the evidence is processed through the different laboratories at the Ohio Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation laboratory on the BGSU campus.

The bus will stop so that participants can go into 2 - 3 campus buildings. FREE, limited seating so reservations are first come, first served.

Decai Sun, chairman and CEO of Luminus Devices, Inc. and a BGSU alumnus, will present a lecture, "LED Technology for Illumination and Industrial Applications" at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 in 123 Overman Hall. He will address LED device fundamentals and the applications in illumination with the latest developments in Human Centric Lighting and industrial applications for medical and horticultural industries and 3D printing. The talk is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the presentation.

BGSU invites you to participate in the Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 12, and to incorporate the Parade theme “Falcons Forever” into the float design. The Parade will also include the undergraduate Homecoming Court, local dignitaries, special entries and members of the Bowling Green community.  The Parade starts at 5:30 p.m., traveling from Mercer and Wooster to Wooster and Thurstin.
