Fall Learn to Swim Program Registration

Student Recreation Center, Cooper Pool or Andrews Pool

Bowling Green State University offers swim lessons for all people, age six months through adult and all skill levels from beginning to advanced, taught by fully certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. The lesson types offered are Small Group (5 - 10), Semi-Private (2 - 3), and Private (one on one). Semi-Private and Private lessons are only available to ages 3 and up. Writing Clear and Challenging Learning Outcomes Workshop

In this workshop, participants will review aspects of “good” learning outcomes. They will identify frameworks for learning outcomes and discuss Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy outcome verbs. Participants will actively discuss learning outcomes templates and identify potential learning outcomes for a course or program. Yoga as you Are - Move For Your Mood Session

Free and open to students, staff, and faculty. No experience is required. Come as you are and please bring a towel/yoga mat. FIrst-time participants receive a t-shirt (while supplies last) and a voucher to participate in continuing Recreation and Wellness programming.  Exercise boosts mood, reduces depressive symptoms, and improves brain function. Student Success Collaborative Basics Workshop

This workshop is for Faculty Mentor/Advisors who would like to learn how to use the Student Success Collaborative (SSC) system in their work with students. SSC is a software tool used campus-wide for managing student advising information. This workshop will introduce some of the key features of SSC and demonstrate how the software can be an effective tool for finding student information, keeping advising notes, and communicating with students and other advisors on campus. Dr. Steve Dow, a BGSU alumnus and associate professor at the Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice, is the featured speaker for the 2018 Constitution Day at BGSU. His talk, at 4:30 p.m., Monday (Sept. 17) in 314 Bowen-Thompson Student Union, will address “Fourth Amendment Limits on Warrantless Doorway Arrests.”  The talk is sponsored by the Political Science Department, Law Society and College of Arts and Sciences and funded by the Bernard Mann Law Education Fund.

The first fall Learn-to-Skate session begins September 8, 9, 10 at the Slater Family Ice Arena!  It’s never too late to start!  Classes for ages three – adult and all skill levels.  Skate to great one blade at a time! Conspirare: Considering Matthew Shepard

$3 for students/children, $7 for adults in advance; $10 all tickets, day of performance. No cost for all BGSU students, faculty and staff with ID card.
Our 2018-2019 Helen McMaster Endowed Professorship in Vocal and Choral Studies presents the choral ensemble Conspirare with conductor/composer Craig Hella Johnson. Conspirare will be presenting Craig's composition Considering Matthew Shepard. This performance will be free of charge for all current BGSU students, faculty and staff with their BGSU ID card at the door. For community members, adult and student/child tickets can be purchased here. On the 20th anniversary of Matthew Shepard's tragic death, Conspirare will perform this choral drama that both celebrates his life and explores how we can transcend tragedy to discover our common humanity.
