Wood County Public Library and Grounds for Thought

The English Department Community Writing Hub is partnering with the Wood County District Public Library and Grounds for Thought to promote a community writing initiative. Between September 2 and October 12, stop by either location and look for the 6-word memoir containers!  Contribute your own memoir using one of the provided cards, and your writing can be part of the community memoir collection.

Homecoming Challenge for Charity

All Residence Halls

On-campus residents are challenged to collect the most canned goods for their residence hall during the week leading up to the Homecoming game.  The Homecoming Challenge for Charity will kick-off on Sept. 9 and will end at Noon on Sept. 12. The winning hall will be announced on Sept. 14 at the Residence Life tailgate tent.  WHY DONATE? The collection of canned goods and non-perishable items will help fight food insecurity on campus and in the community.  WHERE TO DONATE? Show your residence hall pride by donating to your current (or past) residence hall home. Donations can be dropped off at any residence hall lobby during the challenge. PRIZES!!! This competition is part of a larger Homecoming competition between residence halls. Points earned from this competition will be combined with points earned from the Lobby Decorating Competition, Bed Races and the Parade Banner Competition.  The winning residence hall will receive $500 to go toward their Hall Council budget, a trophy and bragging rights for a year! The winning Greek chapter will receive $500 to go toward their chapter's parlor fee, a trophy and bragging rights for a year! LEARN MORE>>

Ethical Leadership Certificate Fall 2019 Session 1: Leadership and Values

  The Ethical Leadership Certificate (ELC), offered by the C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership, is a program designed to help develop your tools and skills in integrity and ethics in your leadership at BGSU and beyond.   Participants will work together to define leadership, ethics, and ethical leadership.  The majority of the session will emphasize reflection on one’s values and beliefs, specifically, where they came from.  Participants will also learn about mindfulness and being reflective in the present moment as a part of consciousness of self. Participants will explore why understanding one’s values is important for growing as an ethical leader.
