Intramural Sports Spring Registration II

$40 per player/semester, $60 per player/academic year
Did you know that BGSU Intramural Sports participants have a higher GPA than non-participants? Get smart and stay fit this fall by registering online now. Sign up as a team with friends, an organization, or a sorority or fraternity.  Players may also register as individuals and be placed on a team. A one-time fee permits any student/faculty/staff the opportunity to play any and all intramural sports throughout the academic year or semester. Learn to Lift with Joe Black Learn how to execute the four main fundamental lifts: Bench Press, Shoulder Press, Squat, and Deadlift. Receive guidance from a Certified Personal Trainer to improve lifting form and confidence in a gym setting. This progressive workshop helps you build relationships and build strength as you work towards your fitness goals.  February 17 - March 11 Monday & Wednesday from 5:30 - 6:30 PM Student Recreation Center, Personal Training Office Fee for 12 sessions: $40 for BGSU Students/SRC Members $60 for BGSU Faculty/Staff/Retiree/Alumni $80 for SRC Non-Members *Registration includes FREE Nike Move For Your Mood shirt! (You will receive this from the trainer)   Women on Weights with Amber Schindler Learn more about designing your own exercise programs based on goals and interests throughout this six-week workshop. Utilize diverse equipment and exercise progressions to learn more about proper exercise execution. Gain exercise science knowledge and confidence in a gym setting. International Women’s Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering commencing in 1911. The day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Join us for a panel discussion followed by a roundtable discussion that will serve to promote conversation and awareness about women’s issues around the world. Faculty, staff, students, and community members will conduct open dialogue about women’s issues in their native countries. This open forum seeks to give voice to international women and students on the BGSU campus and in the community that are not always included in conversations about women’s issues. Public Ready by Verena Mermer

Grounds for Thought

Austrian author Verena Mermer, the 2019-20 Max Kade Writer in Residence at BGSU will read from her 2018 novel Autobus Ultima Speranza.  The reading, hosted by BGSU's World Languages and Cultures, is free and open to the public. Verena Mermer is a writer and an academic, currently living in  Vienna. She has published in a variety of literary magazines and was longlisted for the 2013 European Poetry Festival Prize and shortlisted for the Wartholz Prize for Literature.  She will also present a reading on April 1.
