The Clothesline Project is a long-standing tradition at BGSU in partnership with The Cocoon. Throughout the week of 4/6 - 4/10 you can view the Clothesline Project on the CWGE Facebook @bgsu.cwge and join #BGSUVirtual to bring awareness and support survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Creating a t-shirt to contribute to the Clothesline Project is a positive way to explore personal experiences, unpack trauma, and find support through advocacy. #BGSUSAAM2020 Although this can be helpful and healing for survivors, the exhibit may be triggering. BGSU and Bowling Green has a lot of wonderful resources and support available. Choose a day between April 1 and April 30 to go for a run/walk or take your dog for a walk, while practicing social distancing. Be sure to document this activity with a photo or video posted to social media with the hashtags #BGSUSAAM2020 and #BGSUVirtual. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and educate communities on how to prevent it.  Each year, Recreation and Wellness and the Center for Violence Prevention and Education sponsor the SAAM 5k and Dog Walk. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we are unable to hold the race as planned this year, but would like to encourage the campus community to take part in supporting SAAM by doing your own 5k or Dog Walk.  How to participate: 1. Choose a day between April 1 and April 30 to go for either a 5k run/walk or take your dog for a walk. 2. Practice social distancing while completing this activity. 3. Document your activity: Take a photo/video Post photo/video and include the hashtags #BGSUSAAM2020 and #BGSUVirtual Optional: Caption your photo with a fact or statement about sexual violence and bring awareness to this important issue 4. Encourage additional friends/family to join this movement and get involved!

The University is being proactive in its response efforts to slow down the spread of the novel coronavirus and events continue to be evaluated. This event is postponed for spring 2020, but will likely be rescheduled for fall 2020 or spring 2021.   Dr. Karin Limburg, an ecologist at State University of New York (SUNY) College of Environmental Science and Forestry, will present a public talk titled "Fish Whispering: Exploring Environmental Impacts and Life History from Eco-Geochemistry."  Her lecture will introduce some of the environmental tracer methods that are used to record how fish interact with the biogeochemistry of their environments. She will focus on case studies of urbanization in Cape Cod, the impacts of hydropower dams and the effects of marine dead zones on fishes from the Baltic Sea, Gulf of Mexico and Lake Erie. She will also present a scientific lecture on Wednesday, April 8 at 3:30 p.m. Details can be found online.  Free and open to the public.

This event is canceled due to the University’s proactive response efforts to slow down the spread of the novel coronavirus.   This Tuesday Night Screening features staged readings of two student screenplays. Thoughtful discussions involving the author, the audience, and the performers follow each reading. The conversations will explore the authors’ inspirations and visions. They will also facilitate revisions that will strengthen story structure, characterizations, tone, dialogue, and the translation into actual production. Free and open to the public.
