The Ethical Leadership Certificate (ELC), offered by the C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership, is a program designed to help develop your tools and skills in integrity and ethics in your leadership at BGSU and beyond. Participants will work together to define leadership, ethics, and ethical leadership. The majority of the session will emphasize reflection on one’s values and beliefs, specifically, where they came from. Participants will also learn about mindfulness and being reflective in the present moment as a part of consciousness of self. Participants will explore why understanding one’s values is important for growing as an ethical leader.

Evelyn Piazza suffered an unimaginable loss as a result of fraternity hazing. She will share the story of her son Tim Piazza who passed away following a hazing incident at Penn State in 2017. This important presentation will continue to challenge and motivate our community to eradicate hazing on the BGSU campus and across the state of Ohio. Evelyn Piazza, a member of the national Anti-Hazing Coalition, will share the story of her son, Tim Piazza, who passed away following a hazing incident at Penn State in 2017. Also featuring Tyler Perino, a former Miami University student who survived a hazing incident in 2019. This important presentation will continue to challenge and motivate our community to eradicate hazing on BGSU's campuses and across the state of Ohio.  For questions or to learn more, contact Stacey Allan, associate director of student engagement at sallan@bgsu.edu. Love, Mom and Dad: Turning Tragedy into Progress shares content related to hazing activities and a student death. We acknowledge that this content may difficult for some attendees. Please feel free to step outside of the room at any time. Counselors will be available during the event to provide support.
