This year, the Office of Residence Life focuses on Immigration: The Struggle to (Legally) Belong. This immersive exhibition is designed to increase awareness and education literacy of our differences in a format that combines both active and passive learning elements. Most importantly, Tunnel is designed to make you THINK—about the privileges and power one has or does not have, the privileges others do or do not have and what you can do about it. More about Tunnel of Oppression: At BGSU, our goal is to encourage students to think critically about issues of diversity, power, privilege and social justice. We want students to look at the world through others’ lenses, attempt to understand their perspectives and help us in building “an inclusive, safe and respectful community”* for all members of the BGSU Community. The College Panhellenic Conference will be hosting a Succulent Sale in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union as a part of our month-long service event, One Grey Outfit. All funds raised will be donated to the Lucas County Human Trafficking Coalition, an organization comprised of health care, social service, law enforcement, government agencies and churches that help develop prevention strategies and intervention responses to victims of trafficking. Curated by respected art expert Michael Harris, an Emory University art history professor and a 1971 BGSU School of Art graduate, Visible Man will present a creative look at the complexity of Black males through cultural, racial and personal lenses as expressed by women and men of color. 

Join Student Engagement, Diversity and inclusion in a conversation with Rocco Thompson, Online Managing Editor of Rue Morgue Magazine, a publication on Horror in Culture and Entertainment. This conversation will examine themes of queerness in horror television and film, as part of LGBTQ+ History Month. This conversation will be happening on Instagram Live @officialbgsufirelands

The Ethical Leadership Certificate (ELC), offered by the C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership, is a program designed to help develop your tools and skills in integrity and ethics in your leadership at BGSU and beyond. Participants will work together to define leadership, ethics, and ethical leadership. The majority of the session will emphasize reflection on one’s values and beliefs, specifically, where they came from. Participants will also learn about mindfulness and being reflective in the present moment as a part of consciousness of self. Participants will explore why understanding one’s values is important for growing as an ethical leader.
