This year, the Office of Residence Life focuses on Immigration: The Struggle to (Legally) Belong. This immersive exhibition is designed to increase awareness and education literacy of our differences in a format that combines both active and passive learning elements. Most importantly, Tunnel is designed to make you THINK—about the privileges and power one has or does not have, the privileges others do or do not have and what you can do about it. SAVE YOUR SPOT NOW>> More about Tunnel of Oppression: At BGSU, our goal is to encourage students to think critically about issues of diversity, power, privilege and social justice. We want students to look at the world through others’ lenses, attempt to understand their perspectives and help us in building “an inclusive, safe and respectful community”* for all members of the BGSU Community. By encouraging “an awareness of diverse thoughts, ideas and experiences on our campus in which our community members are empowered to use their voices and be heard”*, we are better preparing our students for their roles in their future communities for generations to come. * Office of Residence Life Diversity Statement To our guests with disabilities, please indicate if you need special services, assistance or appropriate modifications to fully participate in this event by contacting Accessibility Services at access@bgsu.edu or 419-372-8495. Media Career Week

Wed, Mar 31, 2021 9:30am to 6pm

Completely virtual via Zoom

Sign up today to attend the 10th annual Media Career Week event! In past years, we’ve planned an in-person event where current BGSU students would attend sessions from past alumni, potential employers, and an assortment of professionals from the media industry. This experience allowed for students to gain more “real-world” experience from industry professionals and provide them with an opportunity to expand their network. With COVID-19 guidelines preventing many student organizations from hosting in-person events, we found a way to still host this special event while remaining safe and abiding by university regulations. This year’s Media Career Week will consist of a series of Zoom calls beginning on Monday, March 29th, and continuing until Friday, April 2nd. We will be featuring a wide variety of professionals from different areas of the media industry speak to BGSU students about their career-related experience, tips for securing a job out of college, lessons learned in their post-grad life, and a variety of other questions that may arise during the call.  Learn more at http://bgsu.presence.io/event/media-career-week Or: https://linktr.ee/MediaCareerWeek
