Counseling Center
Body Image Support Group meets weekly during the semester for an hour and a half on a designated day and time. Body Image Support Group is run by two members of the Counseling Center and has a maximum of eight students. In the group, students are educated on and discuss topics like building a healthy body image, how beauty is portrayed in media and on social media, etc. This group is not appropriate for those who have any type of eating disorder. Students can request to join the group at the beginning of each semester when they present for an initial appointment or may be referred to the group depending on their presenting concern(s).
The Counseling Center welcomes all students. We aspire to respect cultural, individual and role differences. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive and affirming climate for individuals of all races, ethnicities, national origins, genders, gender identities, sexual/affectional orientations, religions, ages, abilities, sizes, socioeconomic statuses, languages and cultures.
