Come explore the art of science and the science of art! Arts and sciences are sometimes considered to be completely different fields of thought, but research and practice alike reveal the correlations between artistic and scientific creativity. This interplay between the arts and the sciences inspires the theme of this year’s ArtsX event.
The 18th annual holiday event includes fun and entertaining activities for guests of all ages. Enjoy musical, theatrical and dance performances; exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on arts activities; and holiday shopping for unique, handmade gifts.
This year’s event features multimedia and installation artist, Katie Caron. Her 11-foot by 12-foot installation, The Middle Landscape, will be showcased at ArtsX in the Willard Wankleman Gallery, BGSU Fine Arts Center. Using video projection mapping and industrial materials like waste rubber, polystyrene, thermal plastics, and silicone, Caron creates “an ideal space, a kind of Utopia in which the forces of development sustain themselves in equipoise with nature.”
Attendees may also enjoy a presentation by special guest, Imagination Station, at 5:15 p.m. in the Thomas B. and Kathleen M. Donnell Theater.
No tickets required. Parking is free.
