Each academic year, the Center for Faculty Excellence accepts applications to fill the three available Faculty Associate positions. Faculty Associates partner with the Center for Faculty Excellence to serve as a resource and an active participant with other faculty, staff, administrators and graduate students to reach the strategic goals of the CFE. Faculty Associates assist the CFE with the design and implementation of professional development. Faculty who participate as Associates with the CFE will receive an academic year stipend of up to $5,000. Stipends are to be disbursed at the end of the academic year, pending review and approval by the Associate Director.  The application opens on April 4, 2022, at 8 a.m. The application closes on May 6, 2022, at 5 p.m. Apply Here

SAAM Teal Ribbons

​​​​At the beginning of April, teal ribbons will be placed around campus to create awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). On April 7, 2022, the Feminist Ambassadors and CVPE Ambassadors will host a table in the Student Union from 1-3 p.m. to discuss sexual violence and hand out personal teal ribbons.

Masterclass: Simple Gifts

The duo will present a masterclass to BGSU students. This event is free and open to the public. Two women plus twelve instruments equals one good time when Simple Gifts takes the stage. Drawing on an impressive variety of ethnic folk styles, this award-winning duo plays everything from lively Irish jigs and down-home American reels to hard-driving Klezmer frailachs and haunting Gypsy melodies, spicing the mix with the distinctive rhythms of Balkan dance music, the lush sounds of Scandinavian twin fiddling, and original compositions written in a traditional style.

Invited Author Talk - Daisy Pitkin

Daisy Pitkin will be discussing her new book, “On the Line: A Story of Class, Solidarity, and Two Women’s Epic Fight to Build a Union.” Daisy Pitkin has spent more than twenty years as a community and union organizer, working first in support of garment workers around the world, and then for US labor unions organizing industrial laundry workers. Her essays have been awarded the Montana Prize, the Disquiet Literary Prize, the New Millennium Award, and the Monique Wittig Writer’s Fellowship. She grew up in rural Ohio and received her MFA from the University of Arizona. Today, Pitkin lives and writes in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she works as an organizer with an offshoot of the union UNITE.
