Administrative Staff Council Annual Award Nominations Open Through April 15

The Administrative Staff Council is seeking nominations for its 2021-2022 awards recognizing outstanding administrative staff members.   Administrative Staff Awards: Dr. Michael R. Ferrari Award: Recognizes the administrative staff member of the year   Newcomer of the Year Award: Recognizes the best new administrative staff member   Diversity and Belonging Award: Recognizes a staff member, office or group who has demonstrated a commitment to advancing a positive culture of diversity, equity and belonging at BGSU   Best of BG Award: Recognizes staff who have done something innovative or show extreme commitment to their particular offices on campus   Nomination deadline is April 15, 2022 Award winners are announced and all nominees are acknowledged and honored at the annual Administrative Staff Council Awards and Recognition Reception. SAAM Teal Ribbons

​​​​At the beginning of April, teal ribbons will be placed around campus to create awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). On April 7, 2022, the Feminist Ambassadors and CVPE Ambassadors will host a table in the Student Union from 1-3 p.m. to discuss sexual violence and hand out personal teal ribbons.

Beginner Strength Training

The Beginner Strength Training class is a combination of both upper and lower body strength exercises! This instructor led class uses primarily dumbbells or body weight for the different movements. No experience is required! This class is free!

BGSU PAWS Team Visit

  Join the BGSU PAWS Team and hang out with our certified therapy dogs! Participate in a self-care lounge featuring dogs, coloring, and journal prompts. It’s the perfect way to relieve some stress and anxiety.  The BGSU PAWS Team is a dedicated group of campus and community volunteers and certified therapy dogs. The team hosts events on BGSU campuses throughout the year and is also available by request. This program is part of the Wellness Connection at BGSU and we offer programming to support the BGSU community in all aspects of wellness.  To learn more about the PAWS Team, visit bgsu.edu/paws. Lit & Learn Author Visit with Elana K. Arnold

Writing from Personal Events Lecture with book signing to follow.  Elana K. Arnold is the author of many books for and about children and teens. She was the 2019 Michael L. Printz Honor award winner and a finalist for the 2017 National Book Award in Young People’s Literature, among other honors. Her middle grade novel A Boy Called Bat was a 2018 Global Read Aloud selection. Elana’s books have been listed on numerous best lists and earned many awards, including Junior Library Guild Selections, an ALAN pick, several selections for the Rise: A Feminist Book Project, a Westchester Fiction Award, a Bank Street Book of the Year, and a Gold Medal in the Moonbeam Children’s Book Award. In addition to her work as a writer, Elana is an avid lover of animals and makes her home among a menagerie of them. She teaches in the MFAC program at Hamline University and lives in Southern California. This event is free and open to the public.  BGSU community member registration General Public Registration
