The eCampus Teacher Training and Resource Guide is an asynchronous Canvas Course created by the Center for Faculty Excellence and eCampus to help instructors think through aspects of course design and delivery for accelerated online teaching. University Libraries’ companion display to the Wood County Museum’s exhibition “Allure & Illusion: A Rose Colored Romance” presents the foundations of marriage culture and how modern ideologies are changing what it means to be married and to strive for the American Dream. Drs. Susan L. Brown and Wendy D. Manning, Co-Directors of the National Center for Family & Marriage Research, will present on their work tracing the shifts in the meaning of marriage in U.S. society. Their research draws on federal data sources to document patterns and trends in marriage. They will address the decoupling of marriage and parenthood as well as increases in nonmarital childbearing and cohabitation, and assess the linkages between attitudes toward marriage versus marital behaviors. During the presentation, they will also discuss the legalization of same-sex marriage, and an assessment of how marriage is likely to change in the future. RSVP to libadmin@bgsu.edu

This presentation will review a Canvas design that helps to deliver course content in a simplified manner that students will find refreshing thereby eliminating email, questions and frustrations on both your end and the students. By using Pages and Modules and having clear timelines and outcomes established at the beginning of the semester, all users are off to success from day one! At the end of the session, the participants will be able to: Design a Canvas course that students can easily and efficiently navigate.  Create weekly Modules that are detailed and organized.  Link your syllabus to the Canvas To Do list and Gradebook for the entire semester.
