BGSU Undergraduate Student Government and the Office of Student Engagement are teaming up to showcase all the good work that the student orgs have done this year with an exciting giveaway! 🙌 Student Orgs can enter this contest for a chance to win tickets to stay in the Student Engagement Football Box for the BGSU Football vs Toledo game on Tuesday, November 14th.
Here's how your student org can enter:
Create an Instagram Reel telling us about what you do and/or how you have worked to encourage engagement within the BGSU community. You can use fun trends or simply create a highlight reel for your org, creativity is key!
Follow both @bgsuusg, and @engagement_bgsu
Tag both @bgsuusg, and @engagement_bgsu in your reel and use the hashtag #StudentOrgFootballBox.
Student Orgs can enter their reel anytime throughout the month of October. The deadline to submit a reel is 11:59 p.m. on October 31. A winner will be chosen by November 8th.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)-produced film It’s Real: College Students and Mental Health is designed to raise awareness about mental health issues commonly experienced by students and is intended to be used as part of a school’s educational program to encourage help-seeking.
By featuring real stories and experiences, It’s Real conveys that depression and other mental health conditions are real illnesses that can be managed through specific treatments and interventions. It encourages students to be mindful of the state of their mental health, to acknowledge and recognize when they are struggling and to take steps to seek help.

Being a new faculty member at BGSU brings many exciting opportunities! From teaching new courses and mentoring students to sparking new research collaborations and being part of a dynamic campus community, there are ample ways for faculty members to get involved and connected. To support and sustain new faculty members’ success, it can be helpful to proactively establish and maintain boundaries. In this interactive workshop, new faculty members will explore a collection of strategies for setting healthier boundaries. In doing so, we aim to proactively prevent burnout and lay the foundational framework for better work-life balance.
This interactive workshop provides valuable approaches, strategies, and resources on creating, establishing and maintaining healthier boundaries with students, colleagues and people in our networks.
By completing this workshop, participants should be able to:
Discuss three common mistakes that faculty members make in the area of boundary-making
Identify the three dimensions of burnout (World Health Organization, 2019)
Describe at least five boundary-making strategies that aim to prevent burnout and support a more sustainable work-life balance
Identify at least 5 additional resources that BGSU faculty can use to help them establish and maintain healthier boundaries with students, colleagues, and people in networks
