Making Deals, Building Brands and Running Businesses in Asia with Mr. Michael Crawford

Entrepreneurial thinking is critical for the growth of all companies. The Schmidthorst College of Business is excited to host BGSU alumni Michael Crawford as he shares his experiences as international deal maker and corporate executive, including how he helped some of the most powerful brands innovate and grow in the global market. Current chairman, president and CEO of Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Co., Crawford will draw examples from his time as senior vice president of Shanghai Disney Resort and President of Walt Disney Holdings Co., and as president of global portfolio management with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, to reveal lessons learned about allowing culture and geography to shape his leadership approach.  A limited number of copies of his book “From the Mouse’s House to the Penthouse,” also will be available to students interested in learning more to participate in a book signing at the end of the talk. This event takes place in the Schmeltz Atrium of the Maurer Center on Nov. 14 from 9:30-11 a.m.  Reserve your seat today!

Harvest Fest

This 30 year+ campus tradition, calls together our community for a harvest-inspired meal and shelf stable, non-perishable goods drive! This meal will feature turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and a vegetable. Vegetarian options will be available as well!  For dessert we will have fresh baked pies. Cost of admission is a suggested donation of either $3 (cash only) or 2 non-perishable items (unexpired). Donations benefiting the campus food pantry and Firelands College Student Emergency fund. Special presentation and hoop dancing performance by Native Spirit Productions. Non-perishable items needed: crackers, pretzels, popcorn & chips, cereal/granola bars, meal kits, microwaveable meals, canned pumpkin, evaporated milk, pasta & pasta sauce, canned fruit & vegetables, cake & muffin mix, rice, canned soup, peanut butter, gravy & gravy mix, olive & canola oil, toilet paper, paper towels, menstrual products, soap, hygiene products, diapers & baby wipes.

Not just success in baseball or broadcasting, but in all aspects of his life. A best-selling author of two books, BGSU Athletics Hall of Famer Orel Hershiser embodies BGSU’s entrepreneurial and community spirit. Join us as Hershiser shares insights on leadership and entrepreneurship, providing valuable advice for embracing entrepreneurial thinking and overcoming challenges for your career and life journey.
