Kids Camp Week 7: Superheroes

Recreation and Wellness is offering its ten individual, week-long themed camps for Kindergarten through 6th grade (ages 5 – 12) from June 5 – August 11. BGSU Kids Camp programming is a rec-based program emphasizing fun experiences that empower physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth, along with promoting a healthy lifestyle. Campers enjoy activities including arts and crafts, field trips to various facilities throughout the BGSU campus, ice skating, rock climbing, sports, swimming, and more! This week, campers fly through the air at SkyZone Trampoline Park in Toledo, design their own superhero masks, and hear from local heroes at the BGSU Police Station. On Friday, campers are encouraged to come to camp dressed like their favorite Superhero! Cheap Skate

Slater Family Ice Arena

Drop-in skating sessions open to the public lasting 50-minutes to an hour.  Participants encouraged to pre-register online, but can also drop-in to sign up and pay in person.  No age or skill level requirement.  All skaters expected to obey session rules and skate guards.  Skate rental available for those in need. Menopause: What You Should Know

Menopause does not occur overnight, but rather it is a gradual process, which can be a different experience for each woman.  Join us VIRTUALLY on Thursday, July 20 from 12:30-1:15pm with Wood County Hospital’s physician, Kerry Pearson, D.O. from the Bowling Green Clinic, to hear more about menopause and what you can do to ease the change.   You will learn more about: What is menopause? What are the stages of menopause? How long does each stage last? What is happening within the body? How to deal with hot flashes, mood swings, etc. Impact on weight & how to lose weight during menopause Nutrition – age related/need more protein, or certain vitamins? Exercise – need more strength training vs aerobic?
