During Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in September, take our #BeThe1To challenge!  Visit https://www.bgsu.edu/counseling-center/services/BeThe1To.html watch the five videos, and take a short evaluation based on information in the videos here.  BGSU students, faculty, and staff who complete the evaluation will be entered into a raffle to win 2023's Counseling Center t-shirt designed by a BGSU student! 10 shirts will be raffled off in October.

Apply to be on the 2023 BGSU Homecoming Court! BGSU Homecoming is right around the corner! This year, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of BGSU Bands, a tradition that has been proud and true since its start.  The application for Homecoming Court is now live! Students must be graduating in fall 2023, spring 2024 or summer 2024 to be eligible. The deadline to submit an application is Sunday, Sept. 10, at 11:59 p.m. If you have any questions, please email engage@bgsu.edu. BGSU Football Student Org Sign Contest

Gear up for the first home football game of the season by decorating a BGSU football sign with your student org! Free poster boards will be available on Wednesday, September 6th in the student org craft room (BTSU 406) at any point throughout the day. Student Engagement representatives will also be available in the craft room from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. to answer any questions. BGSU Football Student Org Sign Contest Rules:  To enter, you must be a student organization registered with BGSU  Must be standard poster-board size at 22x28 inches  Boards can be picked up for free in 406 BTSU  Designs must be family-friendly in order to be entered into the contest  At least one representative must be present from the organization with the sign by 12:45 p.m. at the President’s tailgate in Tailgate Park to attend judging at 1 p.m. on 9/9 before the first home Falcon Football game!  Get creative! The organization with the winning sign will be awarded $500 to their account!  The BGSU Football vs. Eastern Illinois game is happening on Saturday, September 9th at the Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Students can learn how to download their FREE ticket on the BGSU Athletics Website! ReStore Grand Opening

  The Campus ReStore will be open from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6! Enter through the north door that's directly across from the Life Sciences Building. The ReStore is fully stocked after successfully collecting many items from When You Move Out (WYMO). There is a nominal $3 entry fee for this BIG event (cash or card accepted) that helps keep the ReStore open. We ask that you bring your own reusable bag(s) to the event and take a reasonable amount of items. We will be limiting excessive shopping of some items.   We need volunteers for part or all of the event. Please register on BGSUserves for service credit!   Types of items include gently used clothes, school supplies, household items, some shelves and furniture, decorations, cleaning supplies, shoes, appliances, toiletries, electronics and more!   Join the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) for an Instructor Video Recording Studio Tour on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, from 1:30-3 p.m. in Olscamp 109. This tour is offered as a drop-in session; please arrive anytime during the allotted time.   To register for the tour, complete the Recording Studio Tour Registration Form. Registration is not required but is recommended to help us plan for the event and help us tailor the tour for your needs. Registration coming soon! Just like our academic school supplies, we need a variety of mental health “school supplies” to succeed in college, such as belonging, self-care, and self-compassion. In each session the “supply” will be defined, and conversations will focus on identifying barriers and solutions to help students prioritize their mental well-being during the transition to college. Join other students in this welcoming and non-judgmental space, fostering open and honest conversations on the challenges and successes of starting college.
