Visit https://www.bgsu.edu/counseling-center/services/BeThe1To.html watch the five videos, and take a short evaluation based on information in the videos here. BGSU students, faculty, and staff who complete the evaluation will be entered into a raffle to win 2023's Counseling Center t-shirt designed by a BGSU student! 10 shirts will be raffled off in October.

This year, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of BGSU Bands, a tradition that has been proud and true since its start. The application for Homecoming Court is now live! Students must be graduating in fall 2023, spring 2024 or summer 2024 to be eligible. The deadline to submit an application is Sunday, Sept. 10, at 11:59 p.m. If you have any questions, please email engage@bgsu.edu. Students can meet for a brief, informal, 15 minute consultation with BGSU Counseling Center staff that do not take the place of therapy. Let's Talk consultations are not appropriate for urgent concerns or mental health emergencies. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)-produced film It’s Real: College Students and Mental Health is designed to raise awareness about mental health issues commonly experienced by students and is intended to be used as part of a school’s educational program to encourage help-seeking. By featuring real stories and experiences, It’s Real conveys that depression and other mental health conditions are real illnesses that can be managed through specific treatments and interventions. It encourages students to be mindful of the state of their mental health, to acknowledge and recognize when they are struggling and to take steps to seek help.

Join the Counseling Center as we watch Each and Every Day, an MTV and JED Foundation collaboration followed by a discussion of the film. Each and Every Day is a documentary exploration of youth mental health through the eyes of young people who have attempted suicide or have struggled with suicidal thoughts. The nine people featured range in age from late-teens to early-thirties and come from diverse backgrounds. They share not only their challenges, but also their recoveries and hard-won wisdom about what made their life worth living. In addition to telling their personal stories, all the participants meet virtually, creating an online community to discuss mental health challenges.
