Harvest Fest

BGSU Firelands, Falcon Square, North Building

  This 30 year+ campus tradition, calls together our community for a harvest-inspired meal and shelf stable, non-perishable goods drive! This meal will feature turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and a vegetable. Vegetarian options will be available as well!  For dessert we will have fresh baked pies.   Cost of admission is a suggested donation of either $3 (cash only) or 2 non-perishable items (unexpired).   Donations benefiting the campus food pantry and Firelands College Student Emergency fund. Non-perishable items needed: crackers, pretzels, popcorn & chips, cereal/granola bars, meal kits, microwaveable meals, canned pumpkin, evaporated milk, pasta & pasta sauce, canned fruit & vegetables, cake & muffin mix, rice, canned soup, peanut butter, gravy & gravy mix, olive & canola oil, toilet paper, paper towels, menstrual products, soap, hygiene products, diapers & baby wipes.

Commuter and Transfer Student Networking Lunch

Commuter and transfer students won't want to miss this opportunity to meet and network with other students over lunch.  You can come and go as you please after signing in at the entrance of Carillon Place between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.  Then, join some of the leaders from the Commuter Student Network and the Transfer Student Association on the 2nd floor of Carillon Place to enjoy a meal with new and old friends. Use this time to share conversations, ask questions and share your story with peers.

The Campus Re Store will have TWO shopping opportunities for you on Thursday, November 14!  12pm to 2pm and 4pm to 6pm!  The Re Store is BGSU's reuse concept and offers all kinds of gently used and sometimes new items for no cost (Microwaves and mini fridges are an exception).  We have books, office/school supplies, clothing/shoes/winter gear, household items, toys/games, sporting goods, crafting items and much more!  Come and shop for the holidays!  Bring your own reasonable sized reusable bag as we do not provide bags.  We reserve the right to limit quantities; all applicable policies will be enforced.  Free entry but valid BGSU ID required.  Why buy new when you can reuse and help out the planet!  Enter glass sliding doors off College Avenue, or off McDonald west parking lot.

"Let's Talk" - Free drop-in counseling consultations

"Let's Talk" is a free and confidential service available to all BGSU students. Students can meet for a brief, informal, 15-minute consultation with BGSU Counseling Center staff. They can listen to specific problems, help explore solutions and introduce you to what it’s like to speak with a member of the staff.  Please note: "Let's Talk" does not take the place of therapy, and consultations are not appropriate for urgent concerns or mental health emergencies. Before and after presentations, the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities will provide tech devices for attendees to try out. Beginning at 4:00, presenters from n2y & TextHelp, The University of Akron’s School of Education, and the Ohio Tech Ambassadors Network will share ways that supportive technologies enhance lives and independence for people with developmental disabilities. Anyone who might benefit from assistive technologies is welcome to attend and bring their questions for our presenters.

You’re invited to meet a decorated Army hero and the BGSU alum who wrote the book about his life, Finding Waypoints: A Warrior’s Journey Towards Peace & Purpose! Hear from our speakers: Colonel Greg Gadson: A former West Point football player and battalion commander, he lost both legs in an IED attack in Iraq but emerged as a spiritual guide for the NY Giants, inspiring audiences with his remarkable story of transformation. Terese Schlachter: A 1985 BGSU alum and author of Finding Waypoints, she began her career at Channel 13 in Toledo and later worked with MSNBC, NBC News, and the Pentagon, earning three Emmys for her coverage of war-wounded veterans. Now, she runs her own consulting firm, Ridgeback Communications. Join us for an inspiring event where Colonel Gadson’s incredible journey and Terese’s insights will remind us all how to navigate life’s challenges!
