Marine Biology Summer Camp

Are you interested in how marine ecosystems work? Do you want to know more about marine animals? BGSU has one of the few marine biology and aquatic science programs in the Midwest where you can explore life at sea! This camp engages students in understanding marine ecology by working closely with the University’s extensive collection of saltwater specimens.   *For students entering 10th-12th grade and must be between the ages of 14-17 for the duration of the program.* Registration and more details can be found on the camps and program website. NowOH Art Show

NowOH Art Show - July 23-August 4, 2024 BGSU Art Galleries hosts the 17th Annual Northwest Ohio (NowOH) Community Art Show. NowOH celebrates the talents of regional artists in the beautiful gallery setting of the BGSU Fine Arts Center.  This year's NowOH art show will be judged by David Ross, a community artist turned advocate for youth and creativity. An alumnus of the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo’s Young Artists at Work program, Ross connects visual art and social issues with a focus on youth against crime and art in relation to health. He also works with the city of Toledo's Youth Commission to build creative engagement opportunities for young people and is the founder of the charity Dunkin 4 Donations. Selected artwork will be displayed in the BGSU Fine Arts Center beginning with an opening reception at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, featuring a gallery talk by Ross. The 2024 NowOH Art Show is free and open to the public with gallery hours from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, visit BGSU.edu/gallery.

IGNITE STEM Summer Camp

The Ignite STEM Camp is a week long day camp at BGSU where students will engage in fun-filled experiences about teamwork, problem solving and the connections between science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the real world. Slater Family Ice Arena

Looking for some fun on ice? Get out of the heat and go ice skating! Bring your family and friends to the Slater Family Ice Arena for some frozen fun. Public Skate and Cheap Skate sessions are open to the public. Online registration required. Skate rental available for those in need.  *Please note, the Slater Family Ice Arena is under construction throughout the 2024 summer season. Facility entry points may change frequently. Planetarium Show: Throwback Thursday – SKY STONES

This show, created by Dr. Dale Smith for the BGSU Planetarium takes viewers on an interpretive trip to Stonehenge, the pyramids of Egypt, the temples of the Maya and several native American sites. Discover the legacy of ancient skywatchers who recorded the movement of the Sun, Moon, planets and stars in their great stone monuments. This show premiered as a public show in 1991.  Stargazing will follow the show if skies are clear.
