ASC Student Scholarship Walking Challenge

Start the new year moving together! We invite faculty and staff to join the ASC Student Scholarship Committee Jan. 19 – Feb. 13 for a Walking Challenge and track your miles over four weeks. Sign up anytime during the challenge! Whether you prefer walking the indoor track, using a stair climber, or getting your steps in around campus or at home, every mile counts.   Participants will track their distance and submit their mileage weekly. Walk when and where it works best for you, but please be honest about miles tracked! Prizes for the most miles logged include Spring semester Group Exercise membership, self-care items, and BGSU items from Falcon Outfitters.  A $10 donation to the Student Scholarship Fund is required to be eligible for prizes. All proceeds will support the Student Scholarship Fund.  Donate remotely:  1. Go online to begin donating  2. Enter $10 in the Amount field  3. Under Designation, enter Administrative Staff Council - Spendable  4. Enter your personal and payment information.  5. Select Donate!  Donate in person:  1. Visit the front desk of the Mileti Alumni Center to donate in person.  2. For donations by check, please include ‘Administrative Staff Council Scholarship’ or '300004S' in the memo line.  Questions? Self Love: A Love Letter to Myself

Campus Engagement and Student Life invites you to fill the hall with love!   (A self-guided craft for the campus community) February 5-12   Step 1:  Choose a blank heart from the craft station in Falcon Square, North Building.   Step 2:  Jot down an affirmation or something you love about youself and leave in the basket provided. Candle Make and Take

Join the Office of Campus Engagement and Student Life for a hands-on, creative break as you make your own natural soy wax candle with Julia Nickell, Firelands alumna and owner of Island Sham Farmhouse! Design your scent, pour the wax, and pick it up once it has cooled and set. This event is open to the entire campus community, with priority given to students. Special Planetarium Event: An Evening with Galileo

  Join us for a special program in collaboration with University Libraries and the Special Collections Department. The recently restored 17th century volumes “Opere di Galileo Galilei,” which consist of manuscripts and scientific writings of Italian astronomer Galileo, will be on display at the BGSU Planetarium. A short presentation about the volumes by Chair of Special Collections, Michelle Sweetser, will begin at 6:30 p.m. The program will conclude with the planetarium show TWO SMALL PIECES OF GLASS about astronomical telescopes across time, beginning with Galileo. Public stargazing will follow the program, weather permitting.
