Spirit Week Bingo

Celebrate Spirit Week with BGSU Bingo Get ready to show your Falcon pride and make the most of Spirit Week! BGSU Bingo turns the week’s events into a fun, interactive challenge with exciting prizes for everyone who participates. How to Play Pick up your BGSU Bingo card starting Feb. 9 at Social House, the Office of Student Engagement (301 BTSU), and the Marvin Center (100 UHall),  Each square features a Spirit Week event you can attend, check them off as you go and work your way toward winning. Bingo cards will be available at all three locations from Feb. 9–19. Win Big Complete a diagonal, horizontal, or vertical line on your card to win Freddie and Frieda mittens or a SICSIC tervis coffee tumbler while supplies last. Feeling competitive? Complete a coverall, finishing the entire board, for a chance to score two Rainn Wilson floor seats in addition to your bingo prizes. Return completed bingo cards to 301 BTSU between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 23–27 to claim your prize. Firelands Hygiene Supply Drive

Whether you'repreparing an interactive session for the Teaching and Learning Summit, a conference session, or a one-time workshop, this hands-on session will introduce you to the building blocks of creating an engaging session, from captivating openings to impactful closings. We'll explore how to design compelling opening activities that grab attention and set the stage for learning and discover strategies for balancing content delivery with interactive engagement throughout your session. Finally, we'll delve into effective closing activities that prompt reflection, solidify takeaways, and inspire action planning. Why you should attend: Design compelling opening activities to immediately engage participants and set the stage for learning.  Enhance learning by activating prior knowledge and outlining foundational concepts.  Design the middle of a session to effectively balance content delivery with interactive engagement and knowledge application. Implement closing activities that prompt reflection, solidify key takeaways, and create actionable plans for participants. Ainu Mosir film screening and discussion

Ainu Mosir (2020) is part of the International Film Series presented by the Department of World Languages and Cultures. The Ainu are the indigenous people who live in northern Japan. Set in Lake Akan, Hokkaido, Ainu Mosir delicately tells a slice of contemporary Ainu life, encompassing tradition and modernity through the eyes of a 14-year-old Ainu boy. Dr. Chris Frey, director of Asian Studies, will lead a discussion following the film. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Free and open to the public.  Sponsored by the Department of World Languages and Cultures, Asian Studies Program, and Japanese Club.

FREE Martial Arts Classes

Learn Taijutsu involving unarmed techniques for striking, kicking, blocking, grappling, and throwing, traditional weapon techniques, and methods of evasion and escape.   Who can attend? Open to BGSU students, faculty and staff  All ability levels are welcome Why you should attend Classes are conducted in a supportive environment through which participants can improve their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. How to attend Drop in to join this 6-7:30 p.m. class on Tuesdays between January 13 - April 28. (No class on March 3) Class is hosted in the Martial Arts Studio (#38) in the sub-basement at the Rec Center Advance registration is not required. Kick off BPCC Week with a university-wide screening of Sinners, hosted by the Black Pop Culture Collective. Since its release, Sinners has made a significant cultural and academic impact, with relevance across Black popular culture, film studies, history, communication and cultural studies. Following the screening, join a guided discussion exploring narrative perspective, identity, morality and representation. This event is designed to spark conversation and encourage thoughtful reflection, making it a meaningful experience for students from all academic backgrounds. The screening features an interactive “Pick A Side” theme. Attendees are encouraged to dress in colors representing key characters—Smoke in red, Stack in blue or Vampire in black—to help create an immersive and engaging community experience.
