The annual Women of Distinction awards program is an exciting continuation of the tradition to honor, celebrate, and connect leaders who advocate for and support others on campus. The award recognizes outstanding role models and mentors who empower others and demonstrate commitment to BGSU’s mission and core values. This is an invite-only event. Finalists are chosen based on the following criteria:  Dedication to role modeling, mentoring, and empowerment  Commitment to the BGSU mission and core values Contributions in their communities through their time, talent, and/or resources  Do you know a Woman of Distinction at BGSU who deserves recognition? We’ll explore the quiet, powerful ways luck shows up in our lives by reflecting on small wins, unseen support systems, and everyday moments we often overlook. Write what you feel lucky for on a shamrock, and we’ll add it to our display in front of Campus Engagement and Student Life in GMH 135. Predict the Oscars and Win Movie Prizes

Think you can predict who will take home an Academy Award? Put your film knowledge to the test in the Browne Popular Culture Library’s (BPCL) Oscar Ballot Contest and compete for movie-related prizes. 🏆🎬🍿 From March 1 through March 13, participants are invited to submit their predictions for this year’s Academy Awards winners. How to Enter Everyone is eligible to participate. Submit your Oscar ballot in one of two ways: Complete the digital ballot  Fill out a paper ballot in the BPCL reading room on the fourth floor of the library All ballots must be submitted by March 13 at 5 p.m. What You Could Win After the Academy Awards broadcast, three winners will be selected from the most accurate ballots. Winners will receive movie-related prizes. Keep the Celebration Going Don’t stop at submitting your ballot. Join us March 13 from 12 to 3 p.m. at the BPCL for our Oscars Party featuring movie trailers, photo ops, popcorn and candy. Wild Northwest Ohio: Art and Awareness Exhibit

A Regional Art Exhibition Inspired by Nature Wild Northwest Ohio brings together three artists whose work explores the ecosystems, wildlife and changing landscapes of Northwest Ohio. Through photography, mixed-media painting and printmaking, the exhibition highlights the beauty and fragility of the region’s natural world while asking viewers to consider their role in environmental stewardship. This exhibition is ideal for those interested in environmental art, conservation, climate awareness, native species and regional artists. Featured Artists Lee Fearnside, photographer Fearnside documents Northwest Ohio’s wildlife areas and landscapes shaped by human activity. Her photography examines how development, agriculture and everyday choices affect fragile ecosystems. Barbara WF Miner, mixed-media painter Drawing from daily walks in local fields and forests, Miner creates layered works built through stencil, pattern and color. Her paintings evoke complex biomes and explore the deep interconnection between humans and the environments they inhabit. Kathy McGhee, printmaker McGhee approaches nature through close observation. Using animals, landscapes and symbolic objects, her prints prompt reflection on how we perceive and internalize the natural world. From AI Anxiety to AI Awareness

This foundational session reframes AI from perceived threat to educational partner. You’ll examine your current beliefs about AI in education, engage with real-world examples across disciplines, and practice prompt engineering techniques. We’ll introduce the Three-Tier Framework and explore how your AI awareness directly enables student AI literacy.   By participating in this session/event, you will be able to:  Distinguish between AI awareness, integration, and innovation levels using the Three-Tier Framework   Apply basic prompt engineering techniques with AI tools to generate teaching-relevant outputs   Identify at least three AI applications specific to your discipline   Develop initial strategies for discussing AI collaboration transparently with students   Connect with colleagues who share your interests in AI integration  To register for this event, use the Spring 2026 CFE-Facilitated Session Registration Form Advance registration is required. Zazen - Seated meditation led by an Instructor

Join us weekly for a period of zazen (or “seated meditation”), a meditative practice that encourages mental discipline, awareness of breath, and cultivating an ability to observe thoughts and emotions without judgment. Zazen encourages living in harmony with the way things are in the present moment and learning to look directly at life “as it is.” Instruction provided and no previous experience necessary. Classes every Wednesday this semester starting 2/4/26 except for the week of spring break on 3/4/26.
