Wild Northwest Ohio: Art and Awareness Exhibit

A Regional Art Exhibition Inspired by Nature Wild Northwest Ohio brings together three artists whose work explores the ecosystems, wildlife and changing landscapes of Northwest Ohio. Through photography, mixed-media painting and printmaking, the exhibition highlights the beauty and fragility of the region’s natural world while asking viewers to consider their role in environmental stewardship. This exhibition is ideal for those interested in environmental art, conservation, climate awareness, native species and regional artists. Featured Artists Lee Fearnside, photographer Fearnside documents Northwest Ohio’s wildlife areas and landscapes shaped by human activity. Her photography examines how development, agriculture and everyday choices affect fragile ecosystems. Barbara WF Miner, mixed-media painter Drawing from daily walks in local fields and forests, Miner creates layered works built through stencil, pattern and color. Her paintings evoke complex biomes and explore the deep interconnection between humans and the environments they inhabit. Kathy McGhee, printmaker McGhee approaches nature through close observation. Using animals, landscapes and symbolic objects, her prints prompt reflection on how we perceive and internalize the natural world. Latino/a/x Issues Conference 2026 featuring the eSTRELLA Latin American & Latino/a/x Studies Student Research Conference WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2026 Bowen-Thompson Student Union Deadline: December 5, 2025 by 11:59 PM   The eStrella Latin American & Latino/a/x Studies Student Research Conference is an annual forum featuring original scholarship (in the form of research papers or poster presentations) and creative work (such as painting, ceramics, photography, movement, media installations, and spoken word).   BGSU undergraduate and graduate students are particularly encouraged to apply. We invite proposals for presentations on all topics related to Latin America and Latino/a/x Studies. Areas of study might include literature & poetry, immigration & citizenship, history, politics, linguistics, ethnicity & race, environment & society, indigenous peoples & resistance, African diaspora, gender & sexuality, LGBTQ+ studies, art, music, performance, education, economics, human development, Latino/a/xs in STEM, and geography. Zazen - Seated meditation led by an Instructor

Join us weekly for a period of zazen (or “seated meditation”), a meditative practice that encourages mental discipline, awareness of breath, and cultivating an ability to observe thoughts and emotions without judgment. Zazen encourages living in harmony with the way things are in the present moment and learning to look directly at life “as it is.” Instruction provided and no previous experience necessary. International Film Series: "Antigone" (2019)

  Please join us for the screening of Antigone and meet Québec's film maker, Sophie Deraspe, to explore the connections between the world of myth and contemporary Canada.  Deraspe will introduce the film and be on hand for a Q& A session. Refreshments will be served. Presented as part of the Pallister French-Canadian Lecture Series, Antigone is a modern adaptation of the classic Greek tragedy of the same name. Antigone confronts the authorities – the police, the judicial and penal systems, and the father of her friend, Haemon – in her quest for justice for her imprisoned brother. Life Design Leadership Certificate Series

The Life Design Leadership Certificate (LDLC) is a program that will help you develop the mindsets and tools necessary to live a meaningful, purpose-driven life as a leader on campus and beyond. This certificate, offered by the C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement and the Radbill Center for College and Life Design, will help participants build confidence navigating an unknown future and make meaningful contributions to their community and organization. This certificate will build on the Life Design framework to empower you to enhance your personal and leadership development. The dates for LDLC are March 18th, March 25th and April 1st. Each session takes place from 7:00 to 8:30pm. This is a three-part series. Participants should plan on attending all three Wednesday sessions to receive the certificate.
