Summer Faculty Writing Retreat Application - NOW OPEN!

Join the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and University Libraries for the Summer 2026 Faculty Writing Retreat, an intensive, three-day, in-person writing retreat running from Wednesday, July 29, to Friday, July 31, 2026. Designed to advance participants’ individual goals and projects, this retreat will provide you with an opportunity to connect with colleagues, accomplish scholarship, creative activity, research and/or writing goals, and receive resources and support from various departments across campus.   During each day of the retreat, you will have dedicated time to write and work individually on your own projects. The retreat also includes opportunities for goal-setting and networking, as well as sessions and individual consultations. At the end of the retreat, you will reflect on your accomplishments and set goals for the upcoming academic year.  By participating, you will be able to:  Identify specific and attainable goals for your scholarship, creative activity, research and/or writing.  Advance your productivity.   Connect with BGSU colleagues.   Identify campus partners and resources that can support your scholarship, creative activity, research and/or writing.   Reflect on your progress towards achieving your goals.   Devise a plan to maintain your productivity for the upcoming academic year.   What you need to know:  You must be able to participate in the entirety of the three-day retreat to apply for this opportunity and attend the event. Participation is open to full-time qualified rank faculty (QRF) and tenure-track faculty (TTF).  Interested individuals must apply to participate in the retreat. HOW TO APPLY STEP 1: Complete the 2026 Summer Faculty Writing Retreat Application Template. STEP 2: Complete the 2026 Summer Faculty Writing Retreat Application Form.  Apply by Wednesday, May 13. Applications will be reviewed, and acceptance will be based on the strength of the application, including clarity of goals and potential benefit to the applicant's scholarly and/or creative activity. Making Your Course Accessible with YuJa Panorama

Join our hands-on working session to use YuJa Panorama to scan your course for accessibility issues and quickly implement fixes directly in Canvas to support all learners. We’ll walk through interpreting the accessibility report and practice remediation techniques for heading structure, alternative text, contrast, descriptive link text, table headers, STEM content, and more. Plan on using a course you’re actively teaching (or preparing) so you leave with real progress and plan to keep your content accessible going forward.  By participating in this session, you will be able to:  Review the accessibility report to find potential accessibility issues and prioritize items that most impact learner access.   Apply accessibility remediations to course content.  Discuss strategies for implementing a check‑and‑fix process to increase course accessibility.   To register for this event, use the Spring 2026 CFE-Facilitated Session Registration Form.  Advance registration is required.
