The BGSU and UT chapters of the Student Veterans of America are hosting the second year of our Ruck-the-Ball event. Students, faculty, and community members will be rucking from Doyt-Perry Stadium in Bowling Green to the Glass Bowl Stadium in Toledo while carrying the game ball for the Battle of I-75 football game between BGSU and UT. The column will hike along a 22 mile route, with the intention of bringing attention to the average of 22 veterans who take their lives each day. The phrase "22 a day" is a well known phrase within the veteran community. This event serves as a reminder to all who participate of the veteran suicide epidemic. This ruck march is open to anyone from either UT's or BGSU's chapter, university, or community. Participants are encouraged to hike as long as they can, but there is no requirement to complete all 22 miles. There will be a number of members from each chapter who will be completing the entire ruck march.
