#JapaneseCultureAinu Mosir (2020) is part of the International Film Series presented by the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
The Ainu are the indigenous people who live in northern Japan. Set in Lake Akan, Hokkaido, Ainu Mosir delicately tells a slice of contemporary Ainu life, encompassing tradition and modernity through the eyes of a 14-year-old Ainu boy.
Dr. Chris Frey, director of Asian Studies, will lead a discussion following the film.
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Free and open to the public.
