The BGSU Police are offering special A.L.I.C.E. training sessions Nov. 27 and 28 to ensure students, faculty and staff are prepared for an unlikely event involving a violent intruder.
Participants will learn how to take an active role in their own safety by using A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Counter, Inform, Evacuate) techniques. Instructors will go over these concepts in detail in an effort to prepare and empower members of the campus community should a violent intruder incident occur. They will also discuss mental and physical tools that could play a vital role in an incident.
BGSU Police will offer two sessions Nov. 27: 10:30 a.m. in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Theater (Room 206) and 7 p.m. in 314 Union. Sessions will also be held at 8:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Nov. 28 in 206 Union. Each session will be the same; participants should pick a session that best fits their schedule.
Each session will last about 90 minutes. Registration is not required.
