https://www.facebook.com/events/643369276092431/BGSU Hillel and the OMA are honored to welcome Erna Gorman to BGSU. Erna was born in France in 1935. Erna and her family were in Poland in 1939 when the Nazis invaded and WWII began. The family ended up in Ukraine where they eventually met a farmer who agreed to hide them. Erna did not speak of her traumatic experiences during the Holocaust to anyone for almost 40 years. When her memories were re-activated in the 1980s, she decided to speak publicly about the Holocaust. During the past 20 years, Erna Gorman has spoken to thousands of people and has made it her mission to teach others about the importance of tolerance in society and how the actions of one person can affect many.
Please join us in welcoming Erna Gorman to BGSU and hear her personal story firsthand. This event is free of charge and open to all.
