Writing Women into History

Dr. Ann Little, Professor, Department of History
Colorado State University

Dr. Ann Little will discuss the challenges of writing the histories of women for whom little documentation exists. She will use her own work on Esther Wheelwright as an example of these difficulties and then will facilitate an open conversation in which all attendees may participate.

The first 20 students to log in to the event will receive a signed copy of Dr. Little's book The Many Captivities of Esther Wheelwright (must pick up on campus).

Ann Little was raised in Toledo and educated at Bryn Mawr College and the University of Pennsylvania. She is the author of "The Many Captivities of Esther Wheelwright" (Yale, 2016) and "Abraham in Arms: War and Gender in Early New England" (Pennsylvania, 2007). She teaches early North American history, women’s history, and the history of sexuality at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
