About this Event

https://www.bgsu.edu/research-economic-development/bgsu-science-cafe.html #ScienceCafeThis Science Café event will feature Dr. Jari Willing, assistant professor of neural and cognitive sciences at BGSU. Jari will give a talk titled "Puberty and the Brain."
About the event
Adolescence, broadly defined as the transition from childhood to adulthood, is associated with numerous changes in the brain and behavior. This is also a period during which many psychiatric disorders tend to manifest. Emerging evidence suggests that within the adolescence period, the onset of puberty may be the critical catalyst for changes in the brain that rapidly alter behavior, making some more susceptible to psychiatric illness.
