DESCRIPTION:Culture and Code – Transforming Languages into Technological 
 Performance \n\nCulture and Code brings the Brooklyn Motion Capture Dance 
 Ensemble to BGSU for a collaborative project exploring the intersections o
 f technology\, ethics\, and cultural expression. This project will encoura
 ge BGSU students to translate their cultural backgrounds into a digital re
 alm through physicality and motion capture technology\, resulting in inter
 disciplinary and immersive performances. Led by Brian Ellis\, a creative c
 oder and multi-instrumentalist\, the ensemble consists of Erin Landers\, m
 ovement director\, and Melanie Holm\, dancer and soprano\, and together th
 ey will lead the residency\, which will broaden students’ perspectives o
 n artistic expression by integrating dance and technology to create moveme
 nt-based musical interfaces. The workshop for the technology will be held 
 on Jan 28th 3.30 – 5.20pm at Chorale Room\, and the performance will be 
 on Jan 30th 8-9pm at Bryan Hall.\n\nThe event is supported by Ethnic Cultu
 ral Arts Program (ECAP) and BGSU College of Musical Arts. Curated by Dr. P
 iyawat Louilarpprasert\, Assistant Professor in Composition.
