About this Event
101 East Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551
A screening and discussion of Jordan Peel's film, Get Out, will be hosted and facilitated by BGSU graduates students in ENG 6750: Black Films Matter at 6 p.m. on May 14 at Way Library in Perrysburg. Following the screening of the film, the students will facilitate the discussion about the film and issues of race.
The event, which is free, is open to adults only because of the film's R rating. The film has a runtime of 104 minutes.
This is the third part of ENG 6750's Community Based Learning for the semester; Get Out is one of the films studied in the course.
The class has worked with Natalie Dielman at Way Library to plan this as part of a Perrysburg community initiative to address recent racial incidents in the Perrysburg area. The library's Community Reading group has read So You Want to Talk about Race by Ijeoma Oluo. Copies of the book are available at Way Library.
