Each month will focus on a different topic and provide skills on a four areas: communication skills, academic stress, mental health & self-care, and identity development. Register here!
January: Communication Skills-Join us for a skill-building discussion about communication with family, friends, and faculty. This workshop also includes the topic of loneliness and maintaining relationships. We will also address public speaking and interacting with students as an instructor!
February: Academic Stress-This next part of the workshop series addresses issues specific to the graduate process, including thesis/dissertation preparation and defense such as writer’s block. We will also discuss stress related to IRB uncertainty, changing jobs and training sites, as well as managing academic workload!
March: Mental Health & Self-Care-Join us for a skill-building discussion about wellness, which is often talked about, but rarely defined in detail. We will unpack topic like burn-out, self-care, travel & commuting, and completing your program in a world where major world-events keep happening!
April: Identity Development-This workshop finale explores identity and professional development, including gender, sexual identity, race, socioeconomic status, disability, faith, military history among others. Discuss career goals from a forward looking perspective and imposter syndrome as well!
