2020 has been a year of uncertainty and many challenges. The impacts of this pandemic has been, and continues to be, felt throughout the country, and within our community. That is why, as we prepare to enter into the next few months that might have traditionally been met with gratitude, celebration and joy, are instead being met with anxiety, continued uncertainty, and fear.
This is where we can all come together to help lighten the load. If you are someone who needs access to food resources or emergency funds we ask that you click the links to let your needs be known and met.
If you are someone who might be able to give, we have a few options for you to contribute to our students and surrounding community.
Beginning Monday, October 26 through Tuesday, November 10, you can donate either canned goods or cash, checks, or payroll deduction to give back. Cash and check donations can either be earmarked for the sponsorship of grocery bags for students, or to replenish the student emergency fund (you can payroll direct for this option only) – a vital resource for students in crisis.
We will be distributing grocery bags with essentials the week of November 16 – 20. Please complete the link here if you would like to receive a bag.
Students who give 5 (either five unexpired items or $5 to the creation of grocery bags) will get a $5 Starbucks e-gift card. Please make sure to jot down your name and BGSU email at the time of your donation. Please note: these are $5 e-gift cards and will be sent at the conclusion of the collection, limit one per student/donation, for the first 100 individual student donations.
All donations can be made to the Deans office, 101 Foundation Hall.
Although we are not able to come together, as we have in years past, the spirit of this campus tradition of giving and gratitude are still strongly felt. We hope that you will be able to participate.
