Tracy McGinley

About Tracy McGinley:

Ms. Tracy McGinley teaches Criminal Justice at BGSU Firelands. She is also a Board Member of the Cleveland Family Center for Missing Children and Adults, Chair of the Erie County Human Trafficking Task Force, and Board President for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Erie County.

In the late 1990s, Tracy was given the opportunity to research identity theft and fraud cases.  She was involved with the Identity Theft Partnerships in Prevention program from its inception at Michigan State University. During this time, she assisted in training federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. She is also co-author of the book Identity Theft: A Reference Handbook. It was from this research that she gained an understanding of human trafficking.  She then started focusing her research on human trafficking and has been educating the community on this topic for more than a decade. She routinely does prevention programs at schools and has also conducted training for the Ohio Turnpike Commission, the Ohio Housing Authority and with representatives of the Ohio Attorney General's Human Trafficking Initiative.
