Join the Center for Women and Gender Equity and FORGE as we examine the history of self-care and its connections to the civil rights movement and modern-day activism. This event will also feature a presentation and Q&A with Riddhima Sharma, an American Culture Studies doctoral candidate at BGSU and the founder of the digital feminist platform Fempositive, which aims to build a more informed movement for gender justice through education and campaigns in both digital and physical spaces in India and internationally. Sharma will discuss her work with Fempositive, as well as the self-care she engages in to recharge for her activism. Beyond sharing the history of self-care and Sharma’s work, attendees will learn of multiple methods of self-care that can be performed on a budget. This event will take place in person, but Sharma will be joining via Zoom. Light snacks will be provided.
