Life Design Convening at Bowling Green State University

Join us for the inaugural Life Design Convening at BGSU. This gathering brings together life design educators from across higher education to explore how life design frameworks take shape to support student success and career readiness.

Designed for educators scaling life design across their institutions as well as curious innovators just getting started, this convening invites you to join a diverse community of practitioners and thinkers. Through interactive sessions, participants will engage in hands-on activities, applied learning, and open dialogue - emerging with actionable insights and big ideas. 

Located an hour from the Detroit airport, this Life Design Convening will be hosted at the Radbill Center inside McLeod Hall on our Bowling Green campus.

Wednesday, May 13

• 6-8 p.m. Optional Evening Mixer – Beckett's Barrel Room 

Thursday, May 14

• 9 a.m. – Continental Breakfast Provided 
• 10 a.m. – Convening Kickoff and Workshop with Henry Ford Learning Institute: "Building Community and Connection Through Shared Purpose, Shared Work and Shared Joy”
• 12 p.m. – Lunch Provided 
• 1-5 p.m. – Breakout Sessions, Lightning Talks and Collaboration 
• 5-6 p.m. – Social Hour  

Friday, May 15

• 8:30 a.m. – Morning Session – Continental Breakfast Provided 
• 9 a.m. – Breakout Sessions and Design Thinking Sprint
• 1 p.m. – Lunch and Convening Wrap-up 
• 2 - 4 p.m. – Optional BGSU Immersion Experiences – Take a deeper dive into BGSU campus life and the ways we have integrated Life Design throughout the University.

• The registration fee is $300 and includes breakfast and lunch both days.

*Any attendee may transfer their registration to another employee at their institution at no cost. Cancellation requests before April 10, 2026, are eligible for a 100% refund. Cancellation requests after April 10 are not eligible for any refund.

Additional Details

• Hotel: We have reserved a block of rooms at Fairfield Inn in Bowling Green, OH. $119/night; we recommend booking now to ensure you have a room at the group rate (expires March 29).  Book your group rate here  

• Destination Airport: Detroit is approximately an hour away from the Bowling Green State University campus in Bowling, Green OH. 
• Ground Transportation: We recommend renting a car between the airport and the university; it is generally more economical and more reliable than ride share options from Detroit to Bowling Green. 
• Parking is included in registration.
