In past years, we’ve planned an in-person event where current BGSU students would attend sessions from past alumni, potential employers, and an assortment of professionals from the media industry. This experience allowed for students to gain more “real-world” experience from industry professionals and provide them with an opportunity to expand their network. With COVID-19 guidelines preventing many student organizations from hosting in-person events, we found a way to still host this special event while remaining safe and abiding by university regulations.

This year’s Media Career Week will consist of a series of Zoom calls beginning on Monday, March 29th, and continuing until Friday, April 2nd. We will be featuring a wide variety of professionals from different areas of the media industry speak to BGSU students about their career-related experience, tips for securing a job out of college, lessons learned in their post-grad life, and a variety of other questions that may arise during the call.
