National Skate Month Free Lessons

The Slater Family Ice Arena Learn to Skate program and Bowling Green Skate Club are hosting free skating lessons in honor of National Skate Month this Sunday, January 6 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at the Slater Family Ice Arena. The event is designed to be a fun-filled afternoon for children.

Free 20-minute skating lessons will be offered for children ages three and older.  Pre-registration is required and space is limited. One lesson per person.  Sport helmets are required for all lesson participants.  Helmets must be provided by the skaters.  Skaters without helmets may not be able to participate.  Rental skates are included in the lesson.

Members of the Bowling Green Skate Club will be hosting an Open House Meet and Greet from 2:00pm - 4:30pm to provide information and answer questions about skating.

Click here to register online. The event will conclude with a free Public Skate from 3:30-5:20 p.m. for those registered in the lessons.  Regular Public Skate admission and rental fees available for skaters not registered in lessons.

 

Schedule of Events

2:00pm - 3:30pm    Three-20 minute skating lessons (must pre-register and have sport helmet)

  • 2:00 - 2:20pm        First lesson time slot
  • 2:30 - 2:50pm        Second lesson time slot
  • 3:00 - 3:20pm        Third lesson time slot

2:00pm - 4:30pm    Open House Meet and Greet with the BGSC

3:30pm - 5:20pm    Public Skate

Bowling Green State University (BGSU) has built their website around the Standards of the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) 5 and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).  The website was built in compliance with the accessibility standards established by section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and detailed in section 1194.22 of the Code of Federal Regulations, “Web-based intranet and internet information and applications” (https://www.section508.gov/).

BGSU utilizes many web masters across campus to maintain all of its web properties.  Keeping the BGSU website in compliance with section 508 is a joint effort between Accessibility Services, Marketing and Communications and Information Technology Services.  If any page is discovered to be inaccessible, please report it using the above link and we will ensure that the issue is addressed.
