Room Selection Times are Emailed

RETURNING STUDENTS who have paid their $200 initial housing payment will receive a Room Selection Time sent to their BGSU email account after 3 p.m. Selection times are randomized by a computer and are not based on completed credit hours or initial housing payment date.
Please note: This does not include students who are have already been placed in All Gender or Greek Village housing.

WHY ARE ROOM SELECTION TIMES RANDOMIZED?
For returning students, assigning random selection times is the fairest process and here's why:
- Admissions rewards future students who commit early to BGSU; by offering a chance to select housing before others who commit to the University later in the process. All returning students are already committed to BGSU so we cannot offer the same incentive.
- The majority of returning students living on campus have a Sophomore status. The system would not be able to handle the volume, and we would not be able to assist students in a timely manner, if we gave all Sophomores the same selection time.
- We found using GPA as a ranking in the housing selection process to be unfair. A student's class schedule, major and other variables outside of their control can help (or hinder) a student's GPA; making it impossible to compare one student to another. PLUS, this option could add additional stress on to the student.
