About this Event
Join Gender Violence Prevention and Education Services on Wednesday, April 2nd from 2-4p near the Union Oval to install the 2025 SAAM Teal Yarn Storm! Help turn campus teal to bring awareness to sexual violence and show support to survivors.
What is a yarn storm? Yarn storming is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fiber rather than paint or chalk. It is frequently used as a form of political resistance. Yarn storming has become synonymous with the current feminist movement due in part to the reclamation of the traditionally feminine arts of knitting and/or crocheting to partake in the traditionally masculine graffiti scene.
