 U 206 starting at 6:30 pm. “The Debut” is the first known Filipino Ame
 rican feature drama produced in the U.S. Gene Cajayon’s seminal film tel
 ls the story of teenager Ben Mercado rejecting his Asian heritage in order
  to assimilate in America. His contentious relationship with his immigrant
  father comes to a head at his sister’s 18th birthday party. Dante Basco
 \, famous as Rufio in "Hook\," plays Ben. Dr. Khani Begum will facilitate 
 a talk on the Asian American experience after the screening. Email Trinida
