The Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Counseling Center host Sister to Sister, a women of color support group. As women of color, the journey at BGSU can be complex, exhausting, rewarding, and challenging. In the spirit of communal learning and healing, Sister to Sister is a space that aims to provide women of color support and a chance to come together for discussion around various topics related to how we experience life at BGSU. The group is widely attended by undergraduate and graduate students, but has also been attended by BGSU faculty and staff. Topics varied per session; topics included: isolation as a student of color, gender bias in majors/programs, forming community, addressing and responding to racism and barriers in higher education, mental health and wellness, relationships and love, handling familial conflict, sexuality in women of color spaces, and the challenges of being an international student of color in higher education
