Wa ves\n Claudia Aizaga\, flute\n David Munro\, oboe\n Sandra Coursey\, pian o\n\n \n\nBIOS\n\nClaudia Aizaga – flute\nEcuadorian flutist\, Claudia D aniela Aizaga Chávez holds degrees from Universi- ty of Northern Iowa and Louisiana State University. She has won prizes in vari- ous competitions including “Música Maestro” in Ecuador and the LSU Concerto Competitio n\, and has served as a flute teacher through “El Sistema” at the FOSJ E foundation in Ecuador for the last seven years. She is in her first year of DMA studies with Tim Munro.\n\nSandra Coursey – piano\nSandra Course y received degrees in Piano Pedagogy and Piano Performance from BGSU and O klahoma City University. Most recently\, she performed with the Diverge Tr io in Mississippi Women’s University’s Women in Music Festival. She is in her first year of DMA studies with Solungga Liu.\n\nShelly Du – harp \nShelly Du has served as principal second harpist of the Oklahoma City Ph ilhar- monic and as acting principal harpist of the Sarasota Orchestra (FL ). A winner of the American Harp Society Anne Adams Awards\, she holds deg rees from the Oberlin Conservatory and the Cleveland Institute of Music. S he is in her second year of DMA studies with Julie Buzzelli.\n\nHumay Gasi mzadeh – piano\nBorn in Baku\, Azerbaijan\, Humay Gasimzadeh is a winner of the Chamber Music Competition at Stavanger University in Norway\, Conr ad Art Song Competition at BGSU\, and Cortona Contemporary Performance Com petition in Italy. She is in her third year of DMA studies with Robert Sat terlee.\n\nPablo Gomez-Estévez – composition\nPablo Gómez-Estévez is a composer and pianist from Santiago\, Dominican Re- public. He received a Master’s in Composition from BGSU and a BA from Luther College. His mus ic combines elements from Caribbean genres infused with jazz harmonies and contemporary composition techniques. He is in his first year of DMA studi es with Christopher Dietz.\n\nAdam Har-zvi – composition\nAdam Har-zvi i s a composer and double bassist from northern New Jersey. His pieces have been performed by The Toledo Symphony\, The Wind Ensemble Society of New Y ork City\, The 21st Century Consort\, and the Mivos Quartet. He holds degr ees from the Cleveland Institute\, UMass Amherst\, and BGSU. He is in his first year of DMA studies with Marilyn Shrude.\n\nJoshua Heaney – saxoph one\nA prizewinning saxophonist\, Joshua Heaney has soloed with the Atlant a Cham- ber Collective\, Atlanta Wind Project\, and the Georgia State Univ ersity Wind Ensemble. He has premiered over 35 new works and was a feature d performer on Atlanta’s SoundNOW festival and WABE’s Atlanta Music Sc ene. In addition to his duties at BGSU\, he currently teaches saxophone\, clarinet\, and chamber music at Heidelberg University. He holds degrees fr om Susquehanna University and Georgia State University\, and is in his sec ond year of DMA studies with John Sampen.\n\nAnat Kardontchik – violin\n Anat Kardontchik has won prizes in competitions such as the Young Musician s Competition with the Peninsula Symphony\, MTNA Young Artist Award and Pi ttsburgh Concert Society Young Artist Award. She has served twice as conce rt- master of the National Festival Orchestra in Carnegie Hall. She holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Duquesne University. She is i n her fourth year of DMA studies with Penny Kruse.\n\nAriel Magno da Costa – piano\nBrazilian pianist Ariel Magno da Costa holds degrees from Cent ral Michigan University and the State University of Campinas\, Brazil. His research focuses on the music for solo piano by Basque-Spanish composer G abriel Erkoreka (b. 1969). He has participated in the 14th and 15th editio ns of soundSCAPE Festival (Cesena\, Italy)\, Bowling Green New Music Festi val 38\, 39\, 40 and 41\, Society of Composers 2018 National Conference (T acoma\, WA)\, and the 2017 IDRS Annual Conference (Appleton\, WI). He is i n his fourth year of DMA studies with Laura Melton.\n\nDavid Munro – obo e\nDavid Munro is an oboist with a dedication to and passion for performin g 20th and 21st century contemporary\, avant-garde\, and electroacoustic m usic. He re- ceived degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and BGSU \, and is in his first year of DMA studies with Nermis Mieses.\n\nJonathan Oliveira – piano\nJonathan de Oliveira holds degrees from the Federal U niversity of Goiás\, Brazil. A prizewinner in both the Concurso “Jovens Talentos da EMAC” and the Con- curso Nacional de Piano “Orestes Farin ello\,” he has commissioned new works for piano based on his pedagogical research. He is in his fourth year of DMA studies with Solungga Liu.\n\nK atherine Pracht Phares – mezzo-soprano\nMs. Pracht Phares’ 2019 season included stage debuts as Charlotte in A Little Night Music (Madison Opera )\, Ottavia in L’incoronazione di Poppea (Florentine Opera)\, and Prokof iev’s The Love for Three Oranges (Opera Philadelphia). 2021 engagements include the world premiere of Joseph Summer’s Hamlet (Ruse\, Bul- garia) \, and the title role in Kevin Puts’ opera\, Elizabeth Cree (West Edge O pera). She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin\, Milwaukee\, and the University of Iowa\, and is in her first year of DMA studies with Jane Rodgers.\n\nHila Zamir – clarinet\nA native of Israel\, clarinetist Hil a Zamir is a versatile performer of classical and contemporary music. Perf ormance credits include solo concerts at MerkinHall and Walt Whitman Theat er in NY\, Alte Oper Hall in Germany and Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Is rael. In 2014\, she performed as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic un der the baton of Maestro Zubin Mehta. She is in her fourth year of DMA stu dies with Kevin Schempf.
