STEM in the Park

STEM in the Park will feature interactive displays and activities created by area universities, community partners, and local businesses to engage children of all ages in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Join us for a family day of hands-on fun at BGSU, featuring the NEW activity zone for 2018... FLIGHT ZONE. Back by popular demand is the STEM Stage featuring Super-Sized Demos with a new show starting every 30 minutes, along with returning activity zones ALL WHEELS Zone, ROBOTICS Zone, Digital Media Zone, Food Science Zone, H2O Zone, Roots 2 STEM PreK-2 Zone, & Science of Sports Zone. The outdoor Musical Stage under the tent will feature several performances by popular vocal and drumming groups like the TSA Steel Drum Band and the BGSU a cappella group AcousChicks (among several others).

For the first time, “STEM in the Park” and the Wood County Air Fair will combine their events! All aspects of flight will be explored at the Wood County Regional Airport with a shuttle service available to transport families to both locations. The Wood County Airport event will be open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The new FLIGHT ZONE, located at the Wood County Air Fair will feature:

• C47, B25, and TBM Avenger Aircraft Displays
• Helicopter Rides by Intrepid Helicopters (for a fee)
• Hot Air Balloon Rides (weather permitting)
• Free Airplane Rides with the EAA Young Eagle Flight Program (ages 8-17)
• FAA Aviation Pilot and Aircraft Maintenance Seminars (Hosted by the Bowling Green Flight Center)
• Many Hands-On Activities
• FREE Admission, Parking, and Shuttle Service

Bowling Green State University (BGSU) has built their website around the Standards of the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) 5 and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).  The website was built in compliance with the accessibility standards established by section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and detailed in section 1194.22 of the Code of Federal Regulations, “Web-based intranet and internet information and applications” (https://www.section508.gov/).
