Join the Center for Women and Gender Equity for our Women of Color Leadership Summit!
This annual event brings women of color activist-scholars to BGSU to discuss the contributions women of color have made to leadership, activism and advocacy in their communities and more broadly.
The Summit features a panel discussion open to students, faculty, staff and community members where guest speakers will share insight on their own achievements, obstacles and the steps they have taken to become the incredible leaders they are.
This year’s panelists include:
Chief Ife Bell, a traditional tribal leader of the Dagbon Kingdom in the Northern region of Ghana and Strategy Officer for To be Consulting, LLC.
Nazarene Tubman, a Director of Vaccine Clinical Development overseeing global zika, chikungunya, flu and COVID/flu combination vaccine studies.
Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and, after the panel, the speakers will lead smaller discussion groups to allow participants to make additional connections, identify potential mentors and determine how they can take the next step in their own leadership path.
Panel | 2–3:30 p.m. Bowen-Thompson Student Union Room 308
Breakout Sessions | 3:45-5 p.m. Bowen-Thompson Student Union Rooms 314, 315 and 316
