The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships will host an open forum at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13 in the BTSU Theater for faculty and staff who are interested in understanding the changes and enhancements to the FAFSA in order to support BGSU students and their families when the form opens in December 2023. Not only can students expect changes to the form, they will encounter changes to: Application terms Dependency status and roles Aid eligibility Tax information and data permissions For example, the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is now the Student Aid Index (SAI) and there will now be three different ways to calculate a student’s eligibility for a Federal Pell Grant. We will highlight some of these major changes, then open the floor to faculty and staff for questions.
