  SciENcv: How to Create Your Biosketches and Communicate Your Scholarly Contributions Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae (SciENcv) is a centralized system that allows researchers to develop and maintain biosketches for their grant proposals and annual reports.  In this interactive session, you will learn how to use SciENcv to document and communicate your scholarly contributions. Specifically, by completing this workshop, you should be able to: 1. Create and access your SciENcv account. 2. Use SciENcv to prepare a biosketch.  3. Export your biosketch. After providing a brief overview and introduction to SciENcv, we will provide a guided tutorial on how to create and access one’s SciENcv account. Next, workshop participants will receive guided assistance on how to use SciENcv to develop and export their biosketches.

  GrantForward: How to Find Funding and Advance Your Research With over 21,000 sponsors, GrantForward is a dynamic database that simplifies the grant search process and helps scholars find funding opportunities, set grant alerts, and receive personalized grant recommendations.  In this interactive session, you will learn how to use GrantForward to identify relevant funding opportunities to support your research, scholarship, and creative work. By completing this workshop, you should be able to: 1. Create your GrantForward account. 2. Establish your GrantForward research profile to showcase your work and receive personalized grant recommendations. 3. Strategically identify funding opportunities and sponsors. After providing a brief overview and introduction to GrantForward, we will provide a practical tutorial on how to find, save, and set alerts for funding opportunities. Next, workshop participants will receive guided assistance on how to search for funding that is relevant to their own research, scholarship, and creative work.

Faculty are invited to join fellow researchers and scholars for a series of monthly events hosted by the Division of Research at Bowling Green State University. Participants will learn about current research initiatives and make new connections for future collaborations. Enjoy a panel discussion or presentation followed by Q&A and networking opportunities. Light refreshments, snacks and dessert will be served.   April Research and Innovation Forum Wednesday, April 17 | 4-5:30 p.m. Bryan Gallery Lobby. The Bryan Gallery Lobby is located just outside the Bryan Gallery in the Fine Arts Center, adjacent to the School of Art main lobby.   The April Research and Innovation Forum will highlight the diverse contributions BGSU graduate students are making to the public good. Award-winning presenters include Margaret Carr (Leadership Studies), Teri Lee (Sociology), Tami Norris (Organization Development and Change), Ghada Itayem (Higher Education Administration) and Elizabeth Meadows (Fine Art).   After the presentations, stay for networking opportunities and the chance to view MFA thesis exhibitions in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery. Jaak Panksepp Distinguished Neuroscience Lecture entitled: The science of emotion: past, present, and future.

The annual neuroscience and behavior lecture will be given by Dr. Ralph Adolphs who is  Bren Professor of Psychology, Neuroscience and Biology at california Institute of Technology. Dr. Adolphs investigates the neural basis of human social behavior, particularly focusing on how people perceive and process emotions in facial expressions. His research laboratory explores questions about social and moral judgments, emotional decision-making and the social challenges faced by individuals with autism.
